Who is the fittest in Northern Arizona? Wouldn’t it be fun to find out? There is so much incredible recreation in Flagstaff and Sedona this sacred area attracts world class athletes who run, hike, bike, mountian bike, rock climb, snow board and ski, just to name a few! It is the perfect playground to challenge us through these physical, mental and dare I say spiritual pursuits!
Flagstaff brings in professional athletes due to its unique elevation. It sits in a Goldilocks zone that is optimal for aerobic training. Northern Arizona is considered one of the best rock climbing destinations in the world with many varieties of rock types and climbing styles. Sedona boasts some of the best trails in the world for Mt. biking, hiking and trail running. Oh yeah, the Grand Canyon and Kachina Peaks are also in our backyard!
I’ve always wondered who is the best all around athlete? Who can play the hardest in this natural playground that is our home?
Who am I? My name is Walker Eaton I’m a Sedona native who grew up playing in Sedona and have lived in Flagstaff for the better part of 8 years. I’ve spent most of my life adventuring in Northern Arizona through many different modalities and sports. I’ve established myself as a top trainer in the area and have had the honor of working with many incredible local athletes as I focus on athletic performance, injury prevention and longevity. Essentially I help people build functional and resilient bodies so that they can play harder!
This page is dedicated to hosting a weekly challenge that will utilize the incredible natural features in the area that have proven themselves to be physical test pieces.
Anyone can participate in these challenges simply by following the directions on each post! I will announce the challenge of each week in advanced so you will have more than a week to complete it on your own time. For most challenges you will need a gps tracking app like @stava @trailforks or @alltrails (others can work). You may need certain gear for some challenges, and you will certainly need indomitable will to complete them.
Each challenge winner will earn prizes, local cred. and incredible outdoor experiences. Even if you are not a professional athlete this is still a great way to test yourself and improve your fitness, character and depth of experience!
Join us in pushing our limits and creating incredible outdoor experiences that test our fitness, will, and knowledge of self.
